Good research contributes to the advancement of science and helps society at large when it is published. Scientific publications are necessary to impart the knowledge of emerging trends in health care systems, to enhance professional knowledge from time to time and to share one’s own original work with the learned community. Scientific publication and technology transfer are important aspect of research which is the need of the hour for globalisation and global acceptance of Indian Systems of Medicine i.e. Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Sowa- Rigpa. To have quality publications, there is a need of enhancing the awareness of Good Publication Practices and change the perception of scientific writing among AYUSH community to address the gap prevailing in the current scenario in this domain.
Hence, to overcome such issues NCISM is organizing orientation to sensitize all the post-graduate guides on “Scientific Writing, Research Integrity and Publication Ethics”.
A lot of good research works are coming up as PG studies, which many times doesn’t end in publication. This is a strong area and a reorientation to the stakeholders in this regard will kindle the interest in scientific writing and would increase the treasure of evidence to our systems. This programme is to help faculty members and in turn research scholars in understanding the intricacies of writing a paper, getting it published in quality journals and improving citations.
With this background NCISM in collaboration with Centre for Publication Ethics and Centre for Complementary & Integrative Health (CCIH), Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune has trained 60 Master Trainers of ASU systems. These Master Trainers are intended to train all PG guides throughout the country.
