The Bachelor of Ayurveda education will aim at producing graduates, having profounder knowledge of Ashtanga Ayurveda supplemented with knowledge of scientific advances in Modern Medicine along with extensive practical training, who will become efficient.

BAMS is a four and half year course with last one year for Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship Programme.

    • The BAMS curriculum is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of Ayurvedic principles, diagnosis, and treatment modalities. It typically spans five and a half years, including a one-year internship. The coursework is divided into three main categories:

      • Basic Sciences: Students study subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology, providing them with a strong foundation in modern medical science.
      • Ayurvedic Studies: This includes subjects like Ayurvedic Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, and Toxicology. Students learn about the principles of Ayurveda, including the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), and their role in maintaining health and causing diseases.
      • Clinical Training: During the final years of the program, students undergo clinical training, where they gain hands-on experience in diagnosis, treatment, and management of various diseases using Ayurvedic therapies. They work under the supervision of experienced practitioners in Ayurvedic hospitals and clinics.
    • Graduates of the BAMS program have a wide range of career opportunities available to them, including:

      • Ayurvedic Practitioner: Many BAMS graduates choose to establish their own Ayurvedic clinics or work in existing healthcare facilities, providing consultation and treatment to patients.

    Seat Allotment / Selection Criteria

    Total Annual admission capacity - 60 Seats

    Out of the total 60 BAMS seats,85 % seats are allotted to merit students as per the allotment from Commissioner of Entrance Examination, Govt. Of Kerala and AYUSH and the remaining 15 % seats are filled by the management as per the norms fixed by the Govt. Of Kerala/ AFRC from among NRI applicants.
